IELTS SPEAKING PART 2
Well, today I would like to tell you a traditional game, Tug of war, which is among the most favorite folk games in my country.
It symbolizes the domination of the Sun and the Moon over light and darkness. We could play this game with classmates, friends and neighbors in backyard or schoolyard. And we won the game by blood, sweat and tears.
There were two teams holding the rope, and there was a red ribbon tied in the middle of the rope. Two teams in opposite direction attempted to pull the rope. Once the ribbon belonged to a side then that team won.
There are a couple of reasons why this game was special for me:
- First and foremost, it’s terrific fun but also challenging and required high concentration. So, it could boost my physical and mental development.
- Besides, we always composed plans to find better strategies and tactics to counter opponent’s moves.
- Last but not least, this game could enhance the team spirit through communication and cooperation with our peers.
From all the above-mentioned reasons, when it comes to a traditional game, Tug of war always pops up in my mind.
