Topic: The performing arts in general

Besides what you said earlier, what other types of performing art are there?

Well, one of the well-known traditional forms of performing arts in my country is painting. [Crack IELTS with Rob] Besides, people can go and see music concerts, dance performances, acrobatics comedy routines, opera, and circus performances.

Do you think people generally prefer to go to a concert or to listen to recordings of music?

I assume that most of us love the realistic sound and electrifying atmosphere at live concerts. However, many people are put off by the idea of going to concerts because they usually cost an arm and a leg.

Do you think art forms such as ballet and drama are important in life?

I guess that only a stick in the mud would love the fuddy-duddy form of arts like ballet or drama. These kinds of slow-paced prancing on stage don’t seem to fit in this up-to-the-minute world anymore.

Do you think the government has a responsibility to support cultural activities in society?

For a developing country, art is not a necessity, but a luxury. [Crack IELTS with Rob] Hence, rather than worrying about sponsoring cultural activities, our government should be engrossed in supplying essentialities such as basic education, medical care, and natural disaster planning.

What is the value of children learning to perform, such as learning to sing or dance in front of an audience?

Kids who learn to perform tend to possess a dauntless spirit in front of a crowd, which enables them to interact with others and convey their feelings either in a verbal or a nonverbal way.

Do you think the performing arts should be included in normal school curriculums?

From my point of view, art is merely the icing on the cake to a good basic education in humanity and the sciences. However, schools should still offer art as an optimal subject for those who are interested.

Do boys and girls have the same feelings/ attitudes about performing an artistic performance?

The characteristics of artistic performances seem to predispose in girls’ favor since girls are often comfortable being the focal point of any events, which is an integral part of performing. [Crack IELTS with Rob] Boys, on the other hand, tend to believe that performing is not macho enough for them.
