IELTS SPEAKING PART 2
Well, today I would like to tell you about the letter that I wrote for my father who used to work for a hydroelectric dam somewhere in the North of my country.
It was sometimes 5 years ago, when the extreme winter wouldn’t stop to wind when it kept raining cats and dogs, and there was no sign of sunshine in the sky. [Crack IELTS with Rob] I wondered how was my father doing, coped with the cold.
I wanted to ask him a lot, whether he met any difficulties although I knew my father would say he was doing fine and there was nothing he couldn’t handle.
There are a couple of reasons why I wrote this letter for him:
- First and foremost, he was working far away at that time, and writing a letter was the only optimal way to keep in touch with him. [Crack IELTS with Rob] We were poverty-stricken, penniless, and I couldn’t pay a visit to him even though I really wanted to.
- Besides, I think hand-writing letters are an old-fashioned, yet effective way of communication. It’s all about sharing true thoughts with sympathy, affection, and unconditional love which brought a sense of privacy. I believe that the letter I wrote for my father a half-decade ago was of the best memories lasting in my heart.
From all the above-mentioned reasons, when it comes to a memorable letter, a letter for my father always pops up in my mind.
