Your town council has decided to demolish a historic building due to lack of funds to renovate. Write a letter to your counselor.
In your letter, you should say:
• why it is important to preserve the historic building
• how the funds could be generated
Write at least 150 words.

Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Rob, and I am a resident of your city, Melbourne. I am writing this letter to communicate my concern about the latest decision of demolishing a historic building ‘The Melbourne Town Hall’. Just the past week this building celebrated its centenary.
For decades, this building has been a cherished symbol of history in our city. I am disturbed by the fact that the lack of sufficient funds for renovation is the reason behind demolishing this building. The building has existed since the pre-independence era and has been a true mark of our culture.
As far as the funds are concerned, I can understand that the issue would be taxing for you and other authorities. However, if possible, you can raise funds from the public and get it renovated. I am sure people would happily contribute to providing an entirely new outlook to this building.
