    Topic 1: Email

    How often do you use email?

    Well, I check email on every day basis. I probably write a couple of work emails as a part of my job on a daily basis, and I send emails to friends or family a few times a week to keep in touch with them.

     

    What do most people in your country use email for?

    In [my country], people make use of emails for work-related and personal purposes. It’s a professional way to keep in touch with clients and it’s also a brilliant way to catch up with friends who live in different nations/ zones. Besides, using email to drop a line to family members.

     

    What are the advantages of emails?

    Honestly, using email is an inexpensive way to contact people automatically because we don’t have to utilize papers that are derived from trees.

     

    Are there any disadvantages?

    Emails can carry virus which is harmful to our computers. Besides, we also might receive unwanted emails from others- the so-called spam mails which take a lot of time to filter out.

     

    Do you think email will replace letter-writing?

    Well, I think letters will be replaced by emails but not completely. For elderly people or old-fashioned ones, they are still willing to receive a handwritten letter because it shows the dedication with ardent words from the sender to the recipient.

     

    Topic 2: Music

    What types of music do you like?

    I’m a big fan of classical/ pop/ rock/ R&B/ folk music. I’m really keen on up/ mid/ slow tempo songs. It’s very catchy/ relaxing.

     

    Where do you usually listen to music?

    Well, on my way to work with catchy songs to brighten up my mood for the whole day.

     

    Can you play any musical instruments?

    Honestly, I have no aptitude for musical instruments. I’m a little tone-deaf, I always sing out of keys.

     

    Do you think it’s important for children to learn to play a musical instrument?

    Yes, absolutely yes, it’s a brilliant way to exploit a talent at an early age. It can boost their confidence which can be a great advantage for them in the future.

     

    Do you prefer listening to live performance or recorded music?

    I would rather enjoy the relaxing ambience around and I can see my idol in real person.
